Where have you been all my life NIMA MITT

Hi Guys!

As some of you may know I love hot cloth cleansers. I mean REALLY love them. However, I'm not a fan of those flimsy muslin cloths you get with them which can be coarse and scratchy on your delicate facial skin, and I've also found from past experiences that they don't last very long. Yes, frayed and falling part muslin cloth courtesy of Boot's No.7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser, I'm looking at you.

So it was with great excitement that I was introduced to the brand new NIMA MITT by Niamh Martin (NiMa herself- clever, huh?).

Niamh is the founder of NIMA Brush - a new Irish cosmetics brush company specialising in professional makeup tools. Niamh is one of Ireland's more foremost and prominent Makeup Artists and brought her expertise and knowledge into the creation of NIMA Brush and now she is the brainchild behind the ingenious NIMA MITT.

Ok, now I know I've just said that I love my hot cloth cleansers, but this clever little invention allows you to thoroughly cleanse your face with, wait for it... absolutely no need for cleanser/soap/gels etc... at all! Period.

Yes, that's right, you can actually use the NIMA MITT by itself to cleanse your face - ok you do need a splash of water, but that's it. That's all you need to remove ALL traces of makeup, including heavy duty mascaras - just the NIMA MITT and some regular tap water.

Sounds too good to be true, right? Well I thought so too, so of course I had to put it to the test.

After applying a full face of makeup I set about to compare the NIMA MITT with my regular hot cloth cleanser. I cleansed one half of my face with Boot's No.7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser, a muslin cloth and hot water and I then cleansed the other half of my face with the NIMA MITT, water and uh, that's it.

Then something amazing happened... the innocuous looking mitt managed to remove all of my makeup in record time. No need to mess about with lotions and potions, just use the Mitt in circular motions and see the dirt and grime magically (almost!) wipe away onto the Mitt.

Now, I have to say, I have very dry skin which can also be on the sensitive side and there are days when I go to use my usual cleansers and well, my skin just doesn't like it. It flares up and gets red so I can see myself reaching for my NIMA MITT in place of traditional cleansers as you're just adding water to the MITT - no nasty chemicals, parabens, fragrances etc.. I can see this being a godsend for those with highly sensitised skin or who are prone to flare ups and allergic reactions.

Now for the science bit (I've always wanted to say that!)

The magic behind the MITT lies within the microfibres. It's simply very, very, tiny fibers (smaller than a human hair) are closely woven and when wet with just regular tap water they can be swept over the skin to remove makeup, oil, grime - all that nasty stuff.

The MITT itself comes beautifully packaged in a pretty, pink organza bag.

The Mitt itself is wonderfully soft and fluffy - when I first got it I couldn't help but lovingly stroke it.. I dare you to get one and NOT want to stroke it all day long!

Given that the MITT works with just plain old tap water (no need for Evian!) pretty much guarantees that this is going to work with every skintype - even the most sensitive of skins as you're not introducing any chemical laden concoctions to your cleansing routine.

Water has a PH very close to your skins PH levels, so you can be rest assured you're not going to encounter any breakouts or flare ups whilst using the NIMA MITT.

Did I mention that the NIMA MITT is eco-friendly and Irish too? :)

The NIMA MITT is priced at a very reasonable 12.95 - it's even more pocket friendly when you realise that you may never have to buy another cleansing product for as long as you have the MITT!

I would highly recommend this for anyone with sensitive skins, or if you're looking to cut back on your beauty expenditure - I mean, how many of us have half used creams and gels that we either didn't like, didn't agree with us or for whatever reason, just never got around to using regularly - the NIMA MITT just may put an end to all those unwise and unwanted facial purchases!
